On 26 July 2024, Paris 2024 will offer an Opening Ceremony that is certain to join the most memorable moments in Olympic history. The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 will start at 7.30 p.m. Paris time.

Holding a ceremony open to a large audience, with no admission fee for most of its spectators, is a major first. Fans won’t need tickets to access the upper quays, but those wishing to access the lower quays, from the Austerlitz bridge to the Iéna bridge, will need to buy tickets.

On 26 July 2024, the largest-ever Olympic Games Opening Ceremony will take place. Paris 2024 has now revealed the start time for the ceremony, with the event beginning at 7.30 p.m. CET (10.30 a.m. in Los Angeles, 2.30 p.m. in Rio de Janeiro, 6.30 p.m. in London and 8.30 p.m. in Athens).

Organizers had planned a grandiose opening ceremony July 26 for as many as 600,000 people, most watching free of charge from riverbanks.

Tickets for the Opening Ceremony range from 90 euros at locations at the beginning of the parade, going up to tickets costing 2,700 euros (US$2,950) in areas near the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero.

In France, the 2024 Olympic Opening Ceremony will be broadcast by Warner Bros. Discovery (formerly Discovery Inc.) via Eurosport, with free-to-air coverage sub-licensed to the country’s public broadcaster France Télévisions.
